The Challenge

Kelly Jean Beard, while she was an attorney at Meadows, Ichter & Trigg (now Balch & Bingham), sought to establish a networking group for female professionals in the Atlanta area as an alternative to traditional networking organizations. It would include chief executive officers, chief financial officers and business owners.. The purpose of this organization was to set women up on the fast track in their respective professions. Beard sought to create an infrastructure that would uplift women, acknowledge their enormous passion, celebrate their incredible sense of leadership and professional acumen, and that would become a venue that would provide credible sources of information and knowledge.

The Solution

Strategic Vision PR Group was entrusted with developing this organization from the ground up and launching its first meeting, as well as with establishing its board of directors.

Strategic Vision PR Group developed a campaign that included:

  1. Branding
  2. Survey
  3. Community relations
  4. Media relations
  5. Community outreach
  6. Special events

The Results

Strategic Vision PR Group worked with Beard to develop several potential names for the proposed group that would convey the mission and message that Beard sought. The result was ProWIN (Professional Women’s Information Network). The agency developed a logo for the organization as well as all of the collateral material.

Using its contacts in the Atlanta business community, Strategic Vision PR Group sought out and recruited leading female executives to serve on ProWIN‘s board of directors. Before the official launch of ProWIN, Strategic Vision PR Group conducted a survey of professional women in the metro Atlanta area to determine what they wanted in a professional women’s organization, what they believed was lacking in existing organizations, what type of community service they believed a professional networking organization should participate in, and to obtain a snapshot of Atlanta’s female professional business leaders.

Strategic Vision PR Group planned the organization’s launch meeting, which included Jane Robelot, former co-host of CBS television’s “This Morning” as the keynote speaker. In addition, the agency also secured the head coach of the Atlanta Silverbacks as a speaker.

Strategic Vision PR Group selected the venue, developed an attendee list, the invitations, and handled all media relations for the kickoff event, which was covered in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The agency also handled all on-site management for the day of the event. ProWIN’s launch event had a sold-out attendance of more than 200 professional women and laid the foundation for its dominance as one of the premier women’s networking and community outreach organizations in the Atlanta area, which continues to this day.
